World Cup Party Ideas for Entertaining the Kids
If your World Cup party will include kids, then you will want to keep them entertained so that the adults are able to concentrate on the big match. This is especially important if some of your guests are not used to having children around. Many times, parents are able to “tune out” their kids, but those who are not used to children have not yet mastered the art of “tuning out” a child’s laughter or crying.
World Cup Party Face Painting
Kids love to paint. Set up an area where they can easily paint their faces with the colors of their favorite World Cup teams. Be sure to provide enough colors that everyone will be able to have their own favorite team, even if it is the competing team. They can paint a flag on their faces or paint their entire face. Make sure to provide wipes for easy clean up.
World Cup Party Flags
This is a fun and easy World Cup party activity for the kids. All you need is some white card stock and markers, crayons, pencils, and any other craft supplies you want to provide. Have the kids make a flag of their favorite team. Let them decorate it any way they want and then hang them on the walls for display.
World Cup Party Obstacle Course
This World Cup party game can be played outside or in the basement away from where the match is being watched. It can be set up before the party begins, and the kids can play it on and off while the match is on. Look around the house for things you can use. Here are just a few ideas to get you started.
Begin with a starting line. Use tape or a garden hose to create the boundaries of the World Cup party obstacle course. The kids should shift the football with their foot weaving in and out of cones. Put three hula hoops set down in a zigzag row and have them bounce the soccer ball off of their knee once while jumping into the next hula hoop without allowing the football to fall to the ground.
Create a maze with anything around the house, such as books, stuffed animals, whatever. The kids can kick the ball through the maze. At the end of the maze, they can put the ball in between their legs and run to a specific target spot. They can drop the ball and kick it into a net or box that is on its side.
World Cup Party Score Guessing Game
This World Cup party game is simple and will keep the kids interested in the match. Have all the kids guess the final score. The person who is the closest will win a prize.
World Cup Party Charades
Before the party, come up with some simple charades to act out, such as kicking the soccer ball, hitting the soccer ball with your head, etc. They do not have to all be football related, just be sure to include some so they are excited to be a part of the World Cup party.
These fun World Cup party games are sure to keep the kids at your party entertained, allowing the adults to keep their attention on the World Cup match.
