Winter Party Decorations Ideas

  • Make snowflakes out of construction paper and scissors.  Hang them from the ceiling or tape them to the walls.
  • Take tulle fabric and wrap strings of while lights in it.  Drape along the edges of the ceiling or hang icicle lights so they hang down along the walls.
  • Symbolize heaps of snow by tying a group of white, non-helium balloons together.  Set them around the floor of the party.
  • Cut out star shapes from cardboard.  Wrap them in foil.  Tape to the ceiling or hang them with fishing line.
  • Tables can be covered with white or silver tablecloths.
  • For a kid’s winter party, you can set out stuffed penguins and polar bears as table decorations.
  • Take blue, white or silver streamers and hang them in the doorway for people to go through.
  • Create a winter wonderland walkway.  Line up the walkway with tin can luminaries.  Be sure the tin cans are clean.  Remove labels.  Punch holes into the cans with a hammer and nail.  Make a star shape, snowflake, or snowman.  Put a tealight candle in the bottom of each can.  Set them along the walkway to welcome your guests to your Winter Wonderland party.
  • Put out mini potted spruce trees or artificial trees sprayed with canned snow.
  • Decorate the windows with canned snow.
  • Make iced branches for the perfect Winter Wonderland scenery.  (See below)

How to Make Iced Branches

Supplies

  • Tree branches
  • Aleenes Tacky Glue
  • Colorfill Diamond Vase Filler 1 or 2 lbs.

Instructions

  • Put down newspaper for the work area.
  • Pour a pile of the Colorfill Diamonds in the center.  Optional:  Add in German glass glitter for an extra sparkle.
  • Put the tacky glue on the branches.  Smooth it out along the branch.  Fold the paper slightly and roll the branch in the Diamonds and glitter.  Let it set for about 45 minutes.
  • Work on the other side of the branch.
  • In a half hour you will have elegant, iced covered branches.
  • These are beautiful and can be used anywhere in your home.   Add in some lights.

These are just a few ideas you can do to create beautiful Winter Wonderland scenery for your winter party.  Your guests will be welcomed with the Winter Wonderland walkway and impressed with the iced branches.    Mix and match all of these ideas or use them all.  Transforming your home into a Winter Wonderland scene will set the tone for a wonderful winter party.
