Some of the trendiest popular parties are those surrounding the wine tasting theme. A unique spin on this type of party, involves showcasing wines from various places, regions, and countries. Attendees would bring wine from destinations they’ve visited. They get the opportunity to share a bit about the wine and its history. Then the wine is tasted by all of the other guests.

Creative Invitations

Why just have one invitation when you can have several.  Wine bottles have some of the best artwork that will lend itself well to your party.  You can create your own wine label or get images from the internet and send out several different styles of invitations to your party.

As with any party your invitations should convey the theme to your intended guests.  For a Pick Your Destination themed party use wording typically associated with travel.  Instead of just saying time, say departure or arrival time or leaving from gate for the destination of the party.  Under itinerary you can put your instructions for the party.  This is where you will tell your guests to bring their best wine and stories from a trip they have taken.

Also remember to have your guests RSVP with the location they have chosen for the party.

Destination Decorations

For the most common decoration for a wine themed party get some grapes.  If you place real grapes throughout the party you will have something that not only looks good but also goes well with the wine.

Banners and posters are often used to advertise the wines showcased. Since this party, focuses on wines from various places, banners with those displayed would be great. For instance, if your wine is from Italy, the country could be showcased on a banner.  You may also want to go to your local wine retailer and find some shipping crates from around the world and have them displayed throughout the room.

Keep the Menu Simple

Don’t forget that the wine should take center stage at your party.  . It may not be wise to plan a full menu for this type of party. Wine tasting events typically serve appetizer size portions. Carefully displayed wine and cheese can many times be the best accompaniment to the wines being served.

For chilled wine, why not freeze some grapes and have them on hand for your guests to place in their wine glasses.  This will keep the wine at a cool temperature and look great in their glasses.

These parties are really like taking a vacation for the evening. Not only will you taste a wide array of great wines, but learn about them, too. Attendees usually enjoy them so much that they are interested in making the occasion a regular occurrence. Taking the time, to make this party great, could be the beginning of a wonderful schedule of future tasting parties.
