Themed Birthday
Everything You Need For a Fall Birthday Party
Get ready to learn how to plan a birthday in the fall that your guest of honor and your guests will love!
The Location
Sure, it’s fall, so most people think you have to throw the party indoors. But, why not try something a little different? Imagine a fire, roasting hot dogs, roasting marshmallows and enjoying all the beautiful colors the fall brings – all outdoors!
You’ll need plenty of outdoor tables to accommodate the amount of guests you are having.
The tables can be decorated quite simply. Choose some paper table cloths that are congruent with the autumn colors. Orange, green, brown and all the warm colors that make you feel cozy. Couple that with paper plates, cups and utensils that match.
You can have center pieces such as a bowl full of twigs with a rustic candle in the middle.
Or you might pick a paper tree to stand in the middle of the table.
Get creative with leaves and scatter them about. It’s all about feeling that warm and cozy mood of fall.
The main thing you will need is a fire pit or burn pit. You can even rent one if you don’t have one. You will need plenty of fire to keep the fire going for the whole party. If you are not certain how to use one, be sure the person you are borrowing or renting from instructs you on how to properly start a fire and keep it burning.
The smell alone of a roast will have your guests so content.
The Invitations
Pick an invitation that reflects the fall and at the same time the fun of the outdoors. Let them know that they should be prepared with a sweater and warm clothing. It’s going to be fun and cozy at the same time!
The Menu
Hot dogs are a great choice for this party. You’ll need the buns and condiments like mustard, ketchup and relish.
Chili is a great side dish for your hot dogs and your guests can also enjoy a bowl of chili if they choose not to eat a hot dog.
And for dessert… S’mores of course. Get yourself some chocolate bars, marshmallows and graham crackers. Have a small selection of ice cream. You can’t go wrong with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Include some hot fudge, nuts and whipped cream and you will have a little do-it-yourself sundae bar. Oh and don’t forget the cake! Be sure some hot chocolate, tea and coffee.
For the kids, cool-aid is perfect.
Outdoor Games and Recreations
The great thing about being outdoors is that children can play. Set out some trucks and big wheels. You can also include a little acorn hunt and give prizes to those that find the most. Kind of like an Easter egg hunt, but for the fall.
Trampolines are fun for the outdoors as well depending on the age of the children at the party.
Don’t forget a great fall themed piñata tied to a tree! A piñata filled with candies and toys is fail safe fun for children of all ages.
