If your daughter loves Cinderella, a Cinderella themed party is in order.  Your daughter can be treated like royalty at the party, and she is sure to have an amazing time. You can throw a fun filled Cinderella bash if you properly plan the party.

Decorations

Start the decorating process outside.  Put some pumpkins out in the yard to set the mood.  Also, some large plastic mice will be perfect for your Cinderella party.  Place red carpet leading up to your front door.

You need to decorate inside the house as well. Turn a chair into a throne and have it be your daughter’s chair for the evening.  Clear out the room as if it is a dance area.  Put a pink table cloth on the table and decorate it with tall candles. 

Put streamers and balloons around the room and let everyone know it is a festive event.  Also, have Disney cardboard cutouts in your home. They can be guests at the ball.

Costumes

A Fairy Godmother is needed, as is the Wicked Stepmother.  A prince will be needed as well, as he will be required to present the slipper.  Have family members dress in these roles so the complete Cinderella family will be present.

Greet the children at the door in costume, and stay in your role for the duration of the evening.  This will be a lot of fun for the children and it will help you be a part of the party as well.

Activities

Once the kids arrive, they need to get into costume as well.  They are not dressed for the ball.  Take them to a room with dress up clothes and makeup and let them have fun getting ready.  Encourage the kids to have fun and be creative as they dress for the ball.

The Fairy Godmother can help during this process. Have the Fairy Godmother help with hair and makeup.

The Ball

Start the ball and then have the clock strike midnight.  It is then time for the kids to run out to the backyard as fast as they can so no one turns into a pumpkin.

After the kids run out, the prince needs to follow with the slipper.  Make a show out of trying it on other children’s feet.  Act as if you are in search of the real Cinderella.  Try it on your daughter’s foot last, and then declare her as the princess.

Your daughter will have a blast as she gets to recreate her favorite movie. A Cinderella party is a real treat and it is a party your child will remember.

Tips for a Cinderella Party

• Make sure you have a nice shoe in your daughter’s size that can be used as the slipper.
• Do not make the ball the focus of the party.  Kids will become bored with dancing.
• Have fun in your role.  This is a great way to interact with the kids, and the adults will be a hit with the kids.  Embrace your role and have a great time.

  Are there any ideas to update this to a sort of sweet 16 thing, just for a few people (my little sis and her friends) she doesn't want a big party, but was always a fan of the Cinderella movie and this would just put her over the edge...any cool ways to update it?
