Fun Super Bowl Games and Activities
Don’t forget the games. While the Super Bowl game is the main event, you will want to keep everyone entertained and interested. Here are some fun games and activities you can provide during the game and at halftime. All of these games can be altered to include kids. Also, be ready for the big game and make sure you have your super bowl party snacks ready.
- Super Bowl Trivia: Who is the Super Bowl expert at your party? Test your guests’ expertise on past Super Bowl games. The great thing about this game is that even those who are not experts can play. Put together teams. Hang up old newspaper articles, magazine pictures, clippings, and Internet articles. Laminate pictures of past and present football players to be used as placemats. Use the articles and pictures as part of your Super Bowl party décor and create a list of Trivia questions from these decorations.
- Keyword Drinking Game: Create a list of ten words that would be common to hear during a Super Bowl game. Assign a value to each word. Some words could include: replay, dynasty, prediction, touchdown, wide right, Super Bowl Shuffle, or the name of a player. If you assign the value two to “replay,” then everyone would take to two drinks. Kids can get involved in this game, and it will keep them entertained listening for the words. Of course, give them one of their favorite drinks, such as punch or soda.
- Pass the Cup: The first person to get the cup puts a dollar in the cup. If that person says “touchdown” then for each play that is not a touchdown, the cup will get passed and another dollar will be added. When a touchdown is scored, the person holding the cup will get the cash. Then the game starts over. Kids can play with candy in their own little circle.
- Super Bowl Football Relay: Divide your guests into teams. Form lines. The first two players in each line will be given teaspoons. Place two chairs 8 m from the teams. Place a miniature football on the chairs. The players must put the football on their teaspoons without using their hands. They must then run back and put the football on the teaspoon of the next player in line. The first player hands the third player his/her spoon. If the football falls, the player must use the spoon to get it back.
- Pass the Super Bowl Football: This is an easy game that kids and adults can have fun at. Divide your guests up into two teams. Give each team a miniature football. Have the first person on the team tuck the football under his chin. The first person should pass the football to the person behind him/her without hands. The team that wins is the one that has their starting player up at the front of the line again.
There are many games and activities that can be played during the Super Bowl game and halftime. The key is to find games that everyone will enjoy and will not take too much time or effort. Games and activities can help to keep kids entertained, while keeping the adults interacting with each other instead of arguments arising from opposite sides of the Super Bowl. Don’t forget to have prizes for the winners.
