This is the perfect “hot breakfast” you can make without using the oven. It will require the use of a microwave and toaster. Remember to ask for permission to use these appliances.
Ingredients
- Instant Oatmeal Packet (mom’s favorite type)
- Banana
- Ready to Serve Bacon
- Bread
- Butter
- Milk
Steps
- Simply follow the instructions on the packet of mom’s favorite type of oatmeal. Be very careful when pulling from the microwave. It will be hot. Be sure to use hot pads to pull out the bowl. Add a dash of butter and a dash of milk. Stir.
- After the oatmeal has been prepared, put the toast in the toaster. While the toast is cooking, put the bacon into the microwave wrapped in a paper towel. Cook for 15 to 20 seconds. Pull bacon out.
- Once toast has popped up, butter it.
- Put the banana, toast, and bacon onto a plate.
- Pour a cup of milk to drink.
- Place everything on a serving tray. Don’t forget a spoon for the oatmeal and a napkin!
Waffle Combo
Waffles are easy to make for mom. With a few sides, mom can have a wonderful hot breakfast without you using the oven. A toaster and microwave is needed for this recipe.
Ingredients
- Waffles (mom’s favorite kind)
- Syrup (optional)
- Strawberries
- Ready to Serve Sausage
- Orange Juice
Steps
- Put waffles in toaster.
- While they are cooking, put sausage in the microwave. Cook them for 60 seconds. Pull out the sausage and put on a plate. Be careful, the plate will be hot.
- Once waffles pop up, butter and put syrup on them. Put in microwave for 20 seconds to warm up the syrup. If mom doesn’t like syrup, try topping with her favorite fruit.
- Rinse strawberries and put on the plate with the sausage.
- Pour a glass of orange juice.
- Place everything on a serving tray and serve.
Lunch
Ham and Cheese Croissant Combo
- Deli ham
- Croissants
- Mayonnaise (optional)
- Grapes
- Baked chips
- Cookie (mom’s favorite)
Steps
Place some ham and cheese on a croissant. Add mayonnaise if mom likes. Serve with grapes, baked chips, and her favorite cookie.
Bacon, Chicken and Grapes Salad
Ingredients
- Real bacon bits
- Cooked chicken
- 1 cup seedless red grapes
- 1 10 oz. bag iceberg lettuce mix
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup croutons
- Salad dressing (mom’s favorite)
Steps
- Slice grapes in half. (Ask an adult if you need help)
- In a large bowl, toss lettuce, grapes, cheese, cooked chicken, and croutons.
- Top with real bacon bits.
- Serve with mom’s favorite salad dressing.
Sweet Treats
Chocolate Soda
Ingredients
- 2 tsp chocolate syrup
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup lemonade
- 1 ice cube
Steps
In tall glass, mix chocolate syrup and milk. Stir in one tbsp of vanilla ice cream. Once stirred, add in the other tbsp of ice cream. Add in the lemonade and ice cube. Stir lightly. Serve with a straw.
