Gather your kids together, let them dress up in their favorite costumes and get to work and play with these great, fun and easy recipes. They’ll love to make them and eat them and you’ll love watching them smile and laugh while they do it.
For the main course? How about a Monster Sandwich?
Monster Sandwich
Here’s what you’ll need:
Sandwich bread
Canadian bacon
Eggs
Green food coloring
Shredded cheddar cheese
Olives
Parsley
- Toast two slices of your favorite bread.
- Cook up some Canadian bacon and put it on one side of the bread.
- Scramble some eggs with green food coloring.
- Use shredded cheddar cheese to make the teeth of the monster.
- Place the other piece of bread on top and use olives to make the eyes.
- Add parsley on to of the sandwich to make the monster’s hair.
Halloween Spider Cake
Here’s what you’ll need:
18 ¼ oz box white cake mix
4-serving package of green gelatin
Blue food coloring
Chocolate frosting
4 Black licorice whips
2 Big green gumballs
6 Little gumballs
- Use two 9-inch round cake pans to bake the cake. Let it cool.
- Make the gelatin according to the box instructions. Try to keep it a little soft.
- Place one cake layer on a cookie-sheet and cut a small circle out of the center.
- Take this smaller circle and place it on top of the bigger circle as the spider’s head.
- Fill the hole of the cake with the gelatin.
- Place the other cake layer on top of the body.
- Add the blue food coloring to the chocolate frosting until it is black. Frost the whole cake black.
- Cut the black licorice into halves and make eight legs out of them.
- Use the gumballs as the eyes.
Mmmmm. Spider cake….
Witch’s Brew
Here’s an easy one.
What you’ll need:
3 pints of purple grape juice
1 ½ pints of club soda
Grapes
Apples
Simply mix the grape juice and club soda together in a pitcher or punch bowl and cut up the apples and let them float with the grapes. Tell everyone that it is floating eyes and teeth. For an added effect, use a small broomstick to stir.
Spider Cookies
What you’ll need:
Oreo cookies
Frosting mix
Red licorice sticks
Chocolate chips
- Separate the cookies and put three licorice sticks across the white parts of the Oreos, letting some of the licorice to stick out for the legs.
- Add some of the frosting on top and put the cookies back together.
- Dab some frosting on the edge of the cookies and add two chocolate chips for the eyes.
Monster Hands
What you’ll need:
Plastic gloves
Popped corn
Small gum drops (red or green)
- Put a gumdrop into each finger of the glove.
- Fill the gloves with the popcorn.
- Tie the end of the glove with some ribbon or a rubber band.
