Halloween is just around the corner, and certainly the kids are already talking about their costumes and parties and trick or treating. If you’re hosting a Halloween party, though, you’re surely more concerned with the treats than the tricks, and having a nice menu with easy preparation is key to keeping you from turning a little spooky. To keep you a friendly ghost, here is a list full of fun Halloween party treats that can be made in 30 minutes or less.
Halloween Party Mix
This is a fun an easy treat that kids will love. Add various gummy worms and other gummy insect-shaped candies into a bowl of popcorn, pretzels, and more, to make a salty and sweet treat for the kids to enjoy.
Spidery Pretzels
These are a fun treat for kids, who will love to see a giant spider crawl onto their plate. They’re so easy to make, the kids can do them for you. Spread peanut butter between 2 round crackers. Insert 8 small pretzel sticks in the sides for legs. Dab some peanut butter on the front and stick on two raisin eyes, and your spidery pretzel will be spinning a web of fun at the Halloween party!
Ditzy Witch Dip
Empty a container of French onion or ranch dip into a bowl, and mix in a few drops of green food coloring. Then, add in some chopped green, yellow, and red peppers and mix it up. This is a delightful ditzy witch dip you can use for anything, from vegetables to potato chips.
Green Ghoul Punch
Mix two packets of lime gelatin in a quart of hot water. Let it cool and pour it in the punch bowl. Then, stir in two cups of white sugar, one can of pineapple juice, and two cans of frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed), along with four and a half cups of cold water. Right before serving, add in a 2-liter bottle of ginger ale, and watch your cheerful goblins and witches chug-a-lug!
Goblin Guts
Melt a bag of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in some peanuts, and then chow mein noodles, coating the mixture well. Use a teaspoon to drop chunks of the mixture on wax paper, and let them cool. Your party’s ghosts and ghouls will gobble up these goblin guts.
Apples
Caramel apples are fun, easy to make, and absolutely delicious. They scream autumn and Halloween, and they’ll be a hit at your next Halloween party. To prepare the apples, remove their stems, and insert a stick into the middle, far enough to hold it. Then, in a microwave-safe bowl, microwave a package of caramels with 2 tablespoons of milk. Just coat the apples in the caramel and place them top-down on a sheet of wax paper. You can also decorate them with nuts or candies, but they’re yummy any way you make them.
Take the Easy Way Out
Buy pre-made cookie mix and add some flair. Add some food coloring and you can make pumpkin cookies. Or roll out sugar cookies to resemble fingers and top with almond nails. A simple sugar cookie roll can make any number of cookies with added spices and decorations. With a couple of rolls of pre-made sugar cookie dough you can have a variety of cookies for your party.
