If you want to add some fun to your party, consider a great drinking game.  Drinking games are perfect for informal gatherings and parties. All you need is a deck of cards, some people and some alcohol and the good times can begin. See also our Kings Drinking Game article.

Horse Race

Start your party off right with a horse race.  Pull all of the aces out of the deck.  Place them on a table as if they are horses getting ready to leave the gate.  Then, have the dealer pull the top eight cards out of the deck.  He will lay them face down on the table, in a line right below the last ace.  The cards should be set out to form an L, with the aces going one way and the eight cards which are face down going another way.

The eight cards show the progress of a horse.  The eighth card is the finish line.

Have each person bet on a horse.  Each bet counts as a drink, and betters must drink half of their bet before the race begins.

If you bet four drinks on the ace of diamonds, you will need to take two drinks before the race begins.

The race begins when the dealer pulls the first card.  The number on the card is not important. Instead, look at the suit. The ace that shares the same suit will get to move up one.

When the first horse makes it to one of the card markers, that card will be turned over.  Again, the number does not matter. Only the suit matters. The horse that has that suit will need to move back one, but only if he has moved off the finish line.  If he is still on the finish line, those who betted on the horse will have to take a drink instead.

The first horse to make it to the eighth position wins.  He can then dole out eight drinks to the other racers.

In addition, everyone who lost must drink the other half of their bet.

Insanity

With this game, you will need a deck of cards and 13 drinks.  Set the drinks in order of cards.  The drink for the two would be first and the drink for the ace would be last.

Then, the players flip over cards. When a card is turned over, the player must drink.  If they turn over a four, they will need to drink from the spot that the fourth drink was placed. They can drink a lot of it, or they can have a little sip.

This will continue.  Then, when the fourth card is drawn, that player must finish the drink. For example, the first three aces that are drawn allow the person to drink as much or as little as they want.  When the fourth ace is drawn, however, they will have to drink the remainder of the drink.

You will be able to liven put any party with these easy card drinking games. If you feel like having some fun, grab some friends, drinks and a deck of cards.
