These slumber party games will turn an ordinary night into an extraordinary party. Sleepover games will ensure your guests have a night full of jam packed fun. Your party is sure to entertain your friends for hours. When planning your sleepover games, try to have a mix of fun and scary slumber party games to add an edge to the night.
Fun Slumber Party Games
This is a fun game that can get people laughing. With a permanent marker write as many questions as you can fit on a large inflatable ball. Have everyone get into a circle and throw the ball to someone. Whoever catches the ball has to answer a question that their right thumb has landed on. You can adjust the questions to work with the age group you have. Kids, teens, and adults alike can enjoy this game.
Get out your karaoke machine and start singing! Some of your guests may not want to participate in the singing. Don’t force it, but you can try to convince them to give it a try. Those who don’t want to sing will still enjoy watching everyone else entertain. Those who do not want to sing may want to be the judges.
Play your favorite music and dance, dance, dance! Play the music and then turn down the volume. Everyone has to freeze in the exact position they are in when the music stops. No laughing is allowed. If someone laughs, that person is the one who turns down the music next.
Truth or Dare
A slumber party is not a sleepover until you play truth or dare! Have everyone sit in a circle. Ask the person to your right “truth or dare.” This can be done at any age sleepover. Come up with a question or dare.
Ask someone who is not part of the party to come up with some topics for charades. If someone else comes up with the topic, you will be able to play with your guests. Divide up your guests into two teams.
Have the first team pick a player to act out a topic. That person picks a topic and does not show her teammates. That player acts out the topic so that her teammates can guess. If the team guesses right, they will get one point. Only allow three minutes to guess. If the team does not guess correctly, the other team has a shot. If they get it right, then they get one point.
Scary Slumber Party Games
Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board
Have one or your guests lie on the floor. The other guests will sit around her with their hands slightly under her body. The person that is sitting at the head of the person lying down has to tell a scary story about that person’s untimely death.
As soon as the story is complete, everyone has to chant “light as a feather, stiff as a board” continually. While they are chanting, everyone is to lift the person off of the ground. The idea behind this game is that spirits are lifting that person.
The Winking Killer
Cut small pieces of paper. On one piece of paper, write the word “killer.” Have everyone grab a piece of paper. The person who gets the word “killer” has to go around and wink at people. The person who gets the wink has to count to three in their head and fall to the ground and “die.”
If someone thinks they know who the killer is they will say stop. Everyone has to stop while that person names the killer. If that person is wrong, she will die automatically. If that person is right, then that person wins the game.
Have a Séance
Gather the girls into a circle. Have them hold hands. The leader is to ask the spirits to communicate by giving a sign. Ask someone that is not part of the party to give the sign. This could be a knocking sound or some other noise. Get creative. Just the idea of talking to the spirits is enough to get your guests spooked. Then all it will take is a few noises, and your guests will be “scared to death.”
These fun sleepover games and scary slumber party games are sure to entertain and scare your guests. Slumber party games can transform a boring night into a fun and interesting party.
