My friend's daughter is crazy about the recent vampire movie "Twilight" so it's just fitting that her birthday would have a theme on this movie. My question is on activities and food: how do you prepare for a hip yet vampire (chilly) birthday party?

I know you're trying to preserve the "horror" factor for vampires. But I have to tell you: mixing the cheezy fun with horror will is difficult. Better stick with the "Twilight" theme. After all, you're celebrating for the kid and not for the adults. There are many cut-outs, banners and souvenirs based on twilight so this should not be challenging.

You can also mix it up a bit by offering some information about vampires and the movie. Look for some interesting facts online, print them out and use them as small posters that can be read by everyone.

Here are some of the suggested activities for a twilight themed party: * Face painting - the vampires have very light skinned and those who want to emulate the vampires can have a bit of face paint. * Trivia quiz - earn the bragging rights of knowing a lot of the movie and their characters. To set-up the mood, posters and soundtrack of the movie should be helpful
