My friend’s Christmas party will feature the color “Gold” as their theme. I know they just have to put on glitter on their party to achieve this mood. But for those who want something unique or special, I think there should be more than just sparkles to make the party more interesting.

Whenever I think of Gold, I think of Egyptian theme. That's probably the best way you can use the color without another theme.

Color themed parties are a bit challenging for me since they really do not point to a specific theme except for colors. So the suggestion of Mickey is right - think of something related to gold and use that as inspiration to use the color

Thanks for the suggestions. We decided to do something with the color and added a black tone to the party. So we had a black and gold party which is a bit eerie but everyone had a blast because of the "goth" atmosphere
