This Saturday, I'm inviting a couple of friends over for Karaoke night. But we want to do something different. Since many of us can play an instrument, I already sent out a notice to come with their preferred instrument and play on that night. It's going to be judged and we'll have beer and food for everyone No reason for a party, we just want to have some unique entertainment for the night.

We also have that type of party but only during some birthdays for adults. Based on my experience, you should invest a bit on acoustics and gadgets. Test the equipment before the party to avoid disruptions.

There are probably some friends who can entertain with jokes and such. More like a stand up comic. It could be some of the intermission numbers so as people won't get tired of (bad) singing.

I love open mic. In this way, we don't get conscious if we don't sound like a singer. Or at least a bad one
