We're setting up a small birthday party but it will be some sort of a lesson for kids about cooking. It's a mom and child birthday party where each prepare a meal for the party in the hosts chosen location. We have also invited a few friends who will help out in purchasing anything needed during the cookout.

This type of party can be fun but can be dangerous if not well planned. For that reason, you need to have the following before starting the party:

* Menu
* Exact directions
* Exact tools for the party.

Remember that you are dealing with kids so it could be dangerous for them to handle sharp objects.

I suggest you stick to things that could be backed or food that does not require any cooking at all. For example, you could prepare the pasta beforehand and let them mix the sauce.

Also don't forget about the goodie bag - some aprons, spoon and fork as well as the chef's hat should do the trick.
