I have a friend who would like to throw a "party" as part of promoting his services. He'll be inviting some people over for some drinks and food. But the highlight is to show how easy it would be to assemble a PC. It's not much but I think people will come over for food and knowledge

Looks like he's planning a LAN party but only focuses on how to create a PC. This should be a great idea but you have to remember that you're dealing with electronics. Safety first, my friend, because everything hinges on how he performs on the party.

You can also invite some advertisers. In that way it is a win-win situation for everybody. You can have some cocktails on registration. Then the seminar. After the seminar, you can have a buffet set up where people can browse over some computer dealers/experts/parts.

Or you can just watch a video on it. It doesn't have to have a resource speaker in the front.
