My friend's husband is in another country and would miss his son's birthday. But thanks to technology we're going to live stream the birthday party and the husband would also be online to watch the activities. This might sound awkward and too many things could go wrong but it's all for the best intentions since the kid will see his father on his special day. Anyone had this type of experience? That's an interesting concept and it will definitely work. Just make sure you test the equipment and even chat a bit. You just need to have a laptop and decent connection and the father will be part of the party even though he's miles away.

You can also have the husband order or prepare the same kind of drinks and food that will be served in the party. That would help in setting up the vibe. It is a kids party so ice cream and soda and sandwiches aren't really hard to prepare.
