What do you suggest for a Birthday party that's also Father's day? I know birthday sounds more important but I don't want to give an idea that we don't appeciate the celebrant as a dad

Instead of spending money on additional decorations, why not focus on giving out the message. Aside from the birthday messages, ask some of his friends and kids to give out a message of appreciation.

Partyfreak is right. You really don't have to sweat it for additional message. You can add variety to the party by looking for a theme that would be interesting to the guests and celebrant.

When you have occasions like this one, I must tell you that words are rarely eloquent, but still can go along way in making a lot of difference in someone's life. I suggest you look for the right words and convey them in the most affectionate manner. I believe in birthday messages like partyfreak has said, but I also believe in sending messages in a manner the celebrant will always live to remember.
