Creating the Perfect Invitation

If a store bought invitation is not for you, create your own on the computer.  Take a picture of the guest of honor and turn them into their favorite football player.  You may want to send out several different styles of invitations with the logos of all of the NFL teams.  Be sure to include the details of the party in the invitations and if you would like have your guests dress in their favorite teams gear.

Take it Outside

The perfect location for your party is outside.  Take an area of your lawn and create a football field.  With white spray paint you can create the yard lines and numbers and create a field in your back yard.  Create goal posts from inexpensive PVC pipe for the true feeling of a football field.  In addition to your chairs, have benches set on the sidelines for your guests to sit at.  Keep in mind the guest of honor’s favorite team and use their colors.  Make banners and flags and have them in the flower beds and hanging from posts surrounding the field.  You may also want to create a large banner your guests can bust through to enter the party.

Summer Food at its Best

For a quick and simple menu stick to foods that are sold at the concession stand at a football game.  Hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill will give you more time to mingle with the guests and not have to worry about cooking for your party. Nachos are another concession stand staple that is found at all football games.  Keep cheese warm in a crock pot and have your guests make their own platters of nachos. Contact your local supermarket and get a few trays of fried chicken wings.  When you get them home, place them in buffalo sauce and serve hot wings. Having several finger foods available will give your guests a multitude of choices and set the atmosphere for your football party.

The Ambiance

For a special twist instead of music take as many televisions as you can get and place them around the party playing DVD’s of football games.  This will allow the men at the party to watch games and give you all of the excitement of game day.

Have your guests dress in their favorite team colors.  This is an alternative to a costume party and will put all of your guests in the football spirit for your party.

Planning the football party that your man will love is simple.  The main thing to keep in mind with your party is to keep it simple.  Most guys are not looking for overly decorated parties.  They are looking for a place to have some fun with friends.  Keep the decorations and the food masculine and you cannot fail. Check out our article on football party games.
