The important thing to remember about fall centerpieces is that nature gives you everything you will need to create the perfect centerpiece. The leaves are changing colors, corn is ready to harvest and pumpkins and gourds come in all shapes and sizes to create the perfect centerpiece.
Gathering the Perfect Centerpiece
Make natural looking centerpieces from baskets of fall vegetables. Get a basket, the more rustic the better and line it with some of the brightly colored leaves found at this time of year. Place a collection of miniature pumpkins in the basket. Add some moss and you will have a colorful centerpiece.
You can use pine cones found in your yard, fall leaves, gourds and pumpkins arranged in a circular form in the center of the table. Be sure to capture the color of fall as well. Look for vibrant leaf colors. If you don’t have them outside your home, they can be purchased from a craft store, in various arrangements. This is the same case with gourds. However, fresh ones look the most authentic.
Fall floral pieces
Although spring is accredited with being the season for great flower finds, fall has a lot to offer. For a simple centerpiece of fresh flowers get a container of Mums. Mums flourish in the fall and come in a wide variety of colors. Add fresh orange foliage and pine cones to make a perfect centerpiece. Simply repot them in a decorative pot or several sizes of s=decorative pots and place them in the center of your table. Use the foliage to fill in the spaces between the pots.
Instead of using a vase why not use a pumpkin. Cut the top from a pumpkin and remove the seeds. Fill the pumpkin with water and fill with your favorite flowers. Roses come in a variety of fall colors and will work perfectly for this centerpiece. Bright oranges and deep reds will have a hint of sophistication to your table.
Wheat Centerpiece
A great centerpiece for any table is easily made with wheat bundles you can purchase at any craft store. Get a planter in fall colors and fill it half way with sand. Cut your wheat bundles so every stalk is the same size. A good idea for the size of the wheat is to double the height of your planter. If you have a six inch planter cut all the wheat to twelve inches. Place the bundles of wheat in the planter adding sand to keep them up. When you planter is completely filled with wheat hide the sand with Spanish moss purchased at the craft store. To add more color make a bow with wired ribbon and tie it around your wheat bundles.
Making centerpieces inspired by the fall are traditional. These arrangements have a classic charm that adds to the ambiance of your home. Whether you use items you buy from a craft store or find in your yard a fall centerpiece will add a splash of color to your next event.
