There are lots of fun Easter party games for kids that can be played at an Easter party. While an Easter egg hunt is the main event for the kids, this will only take up about 20 minutes of time. Therefore, you need to be prepared to keep the kids entertained by playing some of these fun and simple Easter party games.
Easter Egg Bowling
This game requires one white hard-boiled egg and a lot of colored hard-boiled eggs. Roll the white egg into the center of the room or the lawn. See who can roll their colored egg the closest to the white egg. That person wins a prize.
Easter Bunny Hop Relay
Divide kids into two to three teams. Kids must jump with a plastic or stuffed egg between their knees. They cannot drop the egg. If they do, they must return to the beginning line and start over. The first team to finish wins.
Pin the “Cotton Tail” on the Bunny
Make a tailless rabbit out of poster board. With a permanent marker, write the names or initials of the kids on the cotton ball. Put tape on the back of a large cotton ball. Blindfold the child and have him stick the tail on the bunny. Closest one to place the tail in the right spot will win.
Easter Bunny Says
This is similar to Simon Says, except it is the Easter Bunny Says. Kids love this game and have a blast doing all the silly things the Easter Bunny has them do.
Easter Egg Piñata
Kids love to beat the candy out of a piñata. You can blindfold the older children, but it is recommended that you do not blindfold the younger children. Supply the children with a lightweight bat or broomstick. Make sure that everyone is out of the way when the child starts hitting.
How to Make an Easter Egg Piñata
Materials:
- Large oval shaped balloon
- Flour or white glue
- Newspaper
- String
- Pastel craft paint
- Masking tape
- Glitter
- Ribbon
Instructions:
- Cover work surface with newspaper. Blow up balloon. Tuck the knot in and place a piece of masking tape over it. Tear newspaper strips of 1 inch by 3 inches. Don’t worry about being exact.
- Make paper mache paste by mixing two parts white glue to one part water.
- Dip paper strips in the paste and stick onto the balloon. Leave a small area on the side near the top open to put the candy in. Allow to dry.
- Repeat with a second coat on the entire balloon, except for the hole for the candy. Let it dry over night.
- Pop the balloon and put the candy in. After filling, apply paste on the edges of a piece of paper that is big enough to cover the hole. Put another coat over the entire egg. The third coat will be enough. If you apply too many coats, the egg will be too hard to break. Let it dry overnight again.
- Paint the egg. Decorate it to look like an Easter egg. Use glitter, colored string, ribbon, etc. Once all the paint and decorations have dried, it is time to hang the piñata. With two pieces of string, hang the piñata by looping them under the egg on both ends and crisscrossing them.
These are fun and simple Easter party games that all kids will love.
