Adults love the hunt, too. The Saturday before Easter is the perfect time to host an Easter egg hunt and cookout for your friends and family that are 21 years of age or older. When sending out the invitations, make it clear that the kids are to be left at home, as prizes will be for the “mature” crowd.
Adult Easter Egg Hunt Setup
- Set the date. Send out invitations 2 to 3 weeks in advance. This gives parents the time to find a sitter. Be sure to include in the invitations that the kids are to be left at home.
- Buy plastic eggs to put the sweet, sexy, and grown-up treats and prizes you buy for the party. You could get risky and put some of the different condoms that are available these days. There are a variety of sample sized lubricants and flavored gels, as well. Your guests will get a laugh out of these types of prizes. Add in some of the old time toys that everyone used to love when they were growing up, such as: parachute men, mood rings, bubbles, yo-yo’s, etc. Don’t forget the yummy candies.
- Choose big prizes if someone chooses a specific egg. This could include: a prize for the “big” egg, a prize for the most eggs collected, and a prize for the one who receives the egg with a special message, etc. You can have as many “big” prizes as you like. The prizes could be as little as a chocolate bunny to some other type of prize. It all depends on your budget.
- Hide the eggs. Remember to make it a challenge since you are dealing with adults here. Have fun hiding them and really making them hard to find. The challenge of the hunt is what makes the egg hunt fun.
- Be sure to have plastic grocery bags available for those who may have forgotten an Easter basket. Or, if your budget allows, buy Easter baskets for your guests. There is nothing funnier than getting a picture of an adult with an Easter basket.
Allow 20 minutes for the hunt. Once the 20 minutes is up, gather everyone around to count Easter eggs and hand out prizes. Now, you can enjoy the Easter cookout.
Adult Easter Egg Cookout
Decide on what you want to serve at your party. Brats, hamburgers, and hotdogs will get your guests excited about spring. These are easy to make and almost everyone loves at least one of these.
You can either have your guests bring a dish to share or you can just make it easy and serve chips, dip, baked beans, coleslaw or potato salad, and dessert. Make it simple, so you can enjoy your party, too.
Easter Cocktails
Set up a self-serve bar. After all, it is for the 21 and over crowd. Print out a few drink recipes and make sure to have the ingredients available for the recipes you supply. Have a few snacks around the bar.
A fun recipe to include is a drink called the Easter Egg. It is really easy to make. Just mix in 1 ounce of blue Curacao and 1 ounce of white cream de cocoa. Top with half and half and serve over ice. Anyone can do this and everyone will love the idea that they can make up their own drinks. Encourage them to try new drinks and mixtures.
Your guests will likely never forget the adult Easter egg hunt cookout you hosted. Make it an annual event, and your guest list will likely grow over the years.
