Theme

If you want your party to be a hit, you need a theme. You do not have to stick with the normal Christmas party themes. You do not need to walk in a winter wonderland or sit with Santa. Instead, step outside the box.

A trivia night is a great Christmas party. It’s a lot of fun and it is something different. The guests will truly enjoy themselves and you will get to stretch you party planning muscles by trying something different.

Invite List

Your Christmas party planning begins with the invitation list. Often, office Christmas parties are dull due to the invite list. Expand past the normal guests list and invite friends, family and people who your company works in close proximity with. It will be more fun to have people there who you do not see on a daily basis. This will add to the excitement of an office Christmas party.

Invitations

Make the invitations fun, and have them be a part of the theme. Put a riddle or a question on the invitation. Have the people guessing what is going on. Then, when they open the invitation they will see their invitation. This will catch their eye and prepare them for a fun evening of trivia.

Preparing for the Party

You can decorate for the party based on your trivia questions. Are you going to ask Christmas movie trivia? Then put up decorations based on some of the biggest Christmas movies of all time. If Christmas songs are going to be included, put music notes around the room. Also, put bowls of popcorn on the tables and include drinks. If you want to include alcohol, set up a bar near the tables.

Getting the Questions

While you could make up all of three questions on your own, it is a good idea to get some help. Choose different perspectives in order to get lots of questions. That will allow you to have the best representation of questions available. Then, you will be ready for a great trivia night. You will entertain the guests and everyone will have a Christmas party to remember.

Tips For Throwing a Trivia Party

  • Use different levels of difficulty when creating the questions. Have some easy, moderate and difficult questions.
  • Consider the age group of the attendees when writing the questions.
  • Offer prizes to the winner of the event.
  • Have buzzers at the tables so people can buzz in when they know the answer.
  • Have a moderator who will read the questions and take the answers.
  • Hire someone to serve drinks so the players will be able to stay in their seats during the party.
