Guess the Stocking

Guess the stocking is a fun Christmas game.  For this game, have a stocking packed full of items.  Pass pens and paper around, and then pass the stocking to everyone.   People can feel the stocking but they cannot look in it.  They have to guess what is in the stocking.

If someone gets an item right, they win that item.  If there is a tie, have a second stocking as a tiebreaker.  The winner takes all.

Dirty Santa

People love presents.  The only thing people love more than presents is competition, which is why a game of Dirty Santa is so much fun.  Have everyone bring a wrapped present.  Then, everyone must draw numbers.  Number one will pick the first present and unwrap it.  Then, the next person will pick a present and do the same.  He can then trade presents with the first person.

This game goes on with each number having the option to keep their present or exchange it with someone who has already opened a present.  The last number gets the pick of the presents.

Pass the Present

Pass the present is similar to Dirty Santa, but gift recipients do not have a choice.  In this game, everyone sits in a circle.  As the music plays, people pass the present around the circle.  When the music stops, the person holding the present gets it.  Then, that person leaves the circle and the game starts over again.

This is a great game for gag gifts, but be mindful that you will not know who will be getting your gift.

Christmas Pictionary

A rousing game of holiday themed Pictionary can be a lot of fun.  Take out some paper and pens and start drawing.  Use holiday themed clues and have fun. You can use holiday movies and items as inspiration as you start drawing.

Sing the Carol

This is a fun game, even if you don’t have vocal talents.  Have the lyrics to popular Christmas songs written down and then write down all the guests’ names.  Choose a song and then draw a name.  That person will need to sing the song.  He has to get the words right, and as soon as he makes a mistake, he will be out of the game.  The person that makes it the furthest will win the game.  This is best played with extroverted people, and is even more fun after the eggnog has been passed around.

Holiday parties are a great way to spend time with friends and family. Party games make the time even more fun.  Make your next party a hit by incorporating games so everyone will have a great time.  With the right game, your party will be remembered for years to come.
