If you have some risqué bridal shower games planned, you need to know the crowd.  Some people will be offended by certain games.  It is always better to err on the side of caution. Do not offend anyone. Instead, make sure you provide each person with full entertainment. You do not want anyone to head out early because they are uncomfortable.

Have a Theme

The wedding is not enough of a theme.  Have a theme for the shower in order to have the most fun.  The theme will also help people pick out gifts.  Pick a theme that represents the bride and groom.  You will have lots of fun and help the bride make memories.

You Have to Make People Interact

If you do not want everyone sitting at their table on their own, you have to make them interact.  It is the job of the person throwing the shower to get everyone to talk and have fun.  That means you have to have ice breaker games and fun things for the guests to do.  Do not give the guests a chance to sit around and not say anything.  Take the wall flower out for the people.

A New Tradition

Bridal shower hostesses need to understand the rules have changed.  The old traditions are no longer in effect.  People are stepping out of tradition more than ever before.  Thus, hostesses can be creative and step outside of the box.  This is much more fun and exciting.

Invite the Groom if You Wish

Couples showers are a new trend.  If you want to include the groom in the festivities, go right ahead.  Invite other couples as well. You can make a fun party out of the shower.  Just remember you will need to have entertainment for both the men and women. You will need to approach the arrangements differently for a couples’ shower than you would for a traditional bridal shower.

Make the Bride Feel Special

While the shower is not as special as the wedding, it should still be a chance for the bride to shine.  Allow the bride to have her special day.  Do everything you can to make the day perfect.  It is a day she will remember forever and you want the memories to be positive.

If you are hosting a bridal shower, make sure you are prepared. You can have a fun party, but preparation is essential.  Make sure you understand what is expected of you and then follow through.  You will give the bride a wonderful day and she will be grateful.

• If you need help, do not be afraid to ask.  The Maid of Honor no longer has to be on her own when throwing a shower.
• The person throwing the shower has to pay for it, so make sure it stays within your budget.
