Know your Theme
A wishing well starts with the theme. Pick a theme that will work great for the party. You want to choose a theme the bride will enjoy. If she loves to cook, choose recipes or cookware. If she is getting ready for her honeymoon, choose travel supplies or honeymoon supplies.
After you have your theme, you will then be able to get ready for the party.
Invitations
You need to explain there will be wishing well. Tell guests what the theme is in the invitations. That way, they will be able to get a gift for the theme if they choose.
Briefly explain what a wishing well is in case a guest does not know. That way, everyone will have the opportunity to be a part of it if they wish.
Create a Well
You need to pick a wishing well that will go with the theme you have chosen. If you chose cookware, you could pick a large pot as a well. Then, guests could put items in the pot and around it.
Simply find a container that will fit in nicely and you will be ready to set up your party.
The Wishing Well Area
When you use a wishing well, you need to create an entire wishing well area. The area should be decorated with the theme. If the theme is a honeymoon, you can have pictures of the place the couple is going to along with some items. For example, if they are going to Hawaii, you can have a lei and some beach towels to signify beach. Set up the area to represent the theme in the best way possible.
Then, put your container in the middle often decorated area. Be sure to mark it.
When a wishing well party goes well, the bride has lots of great items she can really use. Since the items are all within the same category, she can fill her kitchen, prepare for her honeymoon or do anything else the wishing well was intended for. This takes stress off the bride and allows her to really enjoy her wedding.
