A bridal shower is a wonderful opportunity to honor a lovely bride-to-be, but bridal shower hosts also need to ensure that the guests at the shower enjoy themselves, too. Most hosts serve wonderful food and drinks, but bridal shower games seem to provide the most laughter and fun at these intimate affairs.

Bridal shower Bingo is a fun, easy game that guests of all ages can enjoy playing while the bride takes the time to open all of her gifts. Almost everyone knows the rules of Bingo, so it’s sure to be a hit at any bridal shower.

Traditional Bridal Shower Bingo

One reason why many women avoid bridal and baby showers is that it often takes so long for the guest of honor to open all of her gifts. Sure, women love to give each other gifts, but it can get a bit boring for guests. This is where bridal shower Bingo can make an otherwise lengthy tradition much more fun.

The traditional bridal shower Bingo game begins when the bride-to-be begins to open her gifts. Each guest is given a bingo card and chips (or a marker, if that works better). Each space on the Bingo cards corresponds to a gift or a type of gift. These gifts can be general, like vase, photo frame, place setting, etc., or they can be specific items from the bride-to-be’s gift registry.

As the bride-to-be opens a gift, someone calls out what the gift is, and guests can place a chip over that gift listed on their card (or mark it off). When a guest completes a row, just like in Bingo, they yell “BINGO” and win a prize. The game can then continue, depending on how many guests there are, how many more gifts are left to open, or how many prizes are available.

Personalized Bridal Shower Bingo

Sure, everyone is familiar with Bingo and loves to yell out “Bingo” when they win the game. But for a bridal shower, it’s more fun to make the games personal to the guest of honor. So, instead of using B-I-N-G-O, use the bride’s name, whether it’s long or short (for example, K-E-L-L-Y). That way, guests stay focused on the bride-to-be, and it’s fun for her, while opening her presents, to suddenly hear her guests shout out her name when they win the game!

Prizes

Prizes for Bingo winners should be kept simple, so that guests who do not win do not leave feeling badly. If your venue has tables with centerpieces, consider letting each winner take a centerpiece home as their Bingo prize. If it is a more intimate affair, small household items wrapped in gift paper or in gift bags make great takeaways and prizes. Use anything from spatulas to cleaning solutions to hand towels for the prizes.

Bridal shower hosts should note that they can buy bingo cards at party supply stores, or they can create them for free. Many websites offer free templates and downloads of bridal shower bingo forms. Regardless of the format, bridal shower bingo is a fun game to pass the time during a bridal shower.
