March Madness Party Foods and Recipes

A March Madness party is simply not a party without food. The best part of a March Madness party, other than the games themselves, is the food. There are many different March Madness party foods you can serve at your party. These are just a few that will be a “slam dunk” at your March Madness party.
March Madness Zesty Bean Dip n’ Chips
Spice up the party with this zesty bean dip. Serve it with chips or as a sandwich spread with your veggies and shredded cheese.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup fat-free canned refried beans
- 1 tablespoon salsa
- 1 ½ teaspoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 minced scallion
Instructions:
Combine refried beans, salsa, cilantro, and scallion in a bowl.
“Hoop it Up” Spicy Wings
These will be a slam dunk at any March Madness party. The trick is to decide which sauce you like. Listed below are a few different combinations to try at your March Madness party.
Ingredients:
- Boneless Chicken Wings (Plain or Breaded)
- Sauce
Sauce Combinations:
- Barbeque sauce and Louisiana hot sauce
- Sweet and source sauce and Tabasco sauce
- Teriyaki sauce with brown sugar and cayenne pepper
- Dry rub of Creole season and Ranch Dressing mix
Instructions:
Cook wings in pre-heated oven at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until crispy and heated through. In a mixing bowl, combine one of the above four sauce combinations in a bowl. Throw wings in the bowl and coat heavily. Serve.
March Madness Mini Burgers
These are perfect basketball treats.
Ingredients:
- Ground chuck patties
- Seasoning
- Grilled onions
- Dinner roll or whole wheat roll
- Cheese
- Condiments of your choice
Instructions:
Coat the hamburgers with seasoning. Cook hamburgers. Grill onions. Add cheese. Put all together and serve with condiments, such as: mustard, ketchup, pickles, etc.
March Madness Party Mix
What is a party without a party mix? This is a great mix for your March Madness party.
Ingredients:
- Chex Party Mix
- M&Ms
- Almonds
- Peanuts
- Cashews
- Raisons
- Chocolate and Yogurt Coated Pretzels
- Cheese stuffed pretzel rolls
- Tropical fruit blend trail mix (banana chips, coconut flakes, papaya, mangoes, and pineapple)
Instructions:
Mix well. It is as easy as that!
Slam Dunk Steak Sandwiches
- 1 cup thinly sliced onions
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¾ cup thinly sliced mushrooms
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ¾ cup beef broth
- 1 ½ tablespoons heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
- 1 pound grilled steak cut into 1/8 inch thick slices
- 1 long loaf of Italian-style bread, halved horizontally, buttered lightly, cut into 4 pieces
Instructions:
- Cook onions in skillet in butter and oil over moderate heat. Stir occasionally until they are crisp and golden. Transfer with slotted spoon to paper towels to drain.
- Cool mushrooms and garlic in the remaining fat over moderately low heat. Stir occasionally until mushrooms begin to turn brown. Transfer mixture to plate.
- Add broth to skillet and deglaze skillet. Scrape up brown bits.
- Add cream, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard.
- Stir in mushroom mixture and steak slices.
- Divide steak mixture among the bread. Sprinkle with onions and top with remaining bread pieces.
March Madness Quenchers
Make your guests feel as if they are part of the game. Purchase 20 oz. Gatorade flavors. Put them on ice in an open metal basin tub. In another tub, have a variety of sodas and water. In another tub, have your favorite beer. You can purchase a variety or simply buy what you like. There will be plenty of other drinks available.
